Photographs by Timothy O'Sullivan from the Geographical Surveys West of the 100th meridian, including views along the Colorado River, the Grand Canyon, Kanab Wash and Black Canyon, Camp Apache and Apache Lake in Arizona, Inscription Rock, Canyon de Chelle, Zuni pueblo in New Mexico, Bull Run Mining District in Nevada, Conejos Canyon and Conejos River in Colorado, and the Snake River in Idaho. Also includes images of Apache, Navajo, and Zuni Indians. Views 16-25 are from the 1874 expedition.

Hamm, deal with Hamm's writing, publication of his work, and prison life, including race relations, at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution, Walpole. There is also a memorandum from the Walpole facility. Writings include a typescript draft of a play and typescript drafts of poems from the collection Dear Stranger/The Wayfarer.
