Phillipps began printing his catalogue in 1824, and published a reprint of the first portion in 1837.

In Latin., Script: Written in a neat gothic bookhand by three scribes. Scribe 1) ff. 1r-2v; 2) 3r-22v, 51r-71v; 3) ff. 22v-50v, 72r-96v., Large elegant initial, 26-line, in red penwork, on f. 72r; smaller similar initial, 16-line, in green with red highlights, also on f. 72r; simple decorative letters, 14- and 6-line, green and red respectively, on f. 51r. Quotations from Bible and marginal notes referring to authors cited, in red. Modern illuminated title page inserted as f. iii: "Catena Commentariorum S. S. Patrum, in Epistolis ad Romanos et Corinthios. M. S. Saeculi XIV"., and Binding: Nineteenth century. Russia leather, blind-tooled, over wooden boards; 4 metal bosses on each cover; leather thong.

A coat of arms, divided by a chevron featuring three crescents. In the upper portion are two eagles; in the lower portion, a caduceus. A knight's helmet is at the helm, and the head and upper half of a stallion rearing over a torse and presenting a second caduceus, is at the crest. The shield itself is surrounded by a border with the motto Tria Juncta in Uno featured upon it. Below this is a cross-shaped medal, behind which is a second motto, Nihil Sine Labore. A leafy mantle surrounds the entire coat of arms.

Contemporary inscription, in gold, in upper margin of f. 2r was apparently added by Genevra Nogarola (1419-1465?). and Manuscript on parchment of Part I: Excerpts from Seneca, Phaedra. Part II: Justinus, Epitoma historiarum Pompei Trogi.

Acquired from L. C. Witten in 1954 by Thomas E. Marston., Binding: Nineteenth century, Italy. Rigid vellum binding, gold-tooled. Traces of turn-ins and bosses from earlier binding on f. 130 and possibly on f. 1., One large illuminated initial, f. 3r, 9-line, pink with white highlights on irregular angular ground, blue with white filigree and a thin white line outlining the ground. Filled with a stylized interlacing pattern of white vine-stem, white with green and yellow shading against gold ground. Numerous small initials, 3-line, yellow, on blue or blue and pink grounds with white filigree. Initial heading in gold; running headlines for book numbers in red., and Script: Part I (ff. 1-2, palimpsest): Written by several scribes in humanistic bookhand; for the passages from Seneca, the initial letter for each verse is set between vertical bounding lines. Part II (ff. 3-130): Written by a single scribe, below top line, in humanistic bookhand that sits somewhat above the ruled line; the conclusion of the text on ff. 129v-130r was added by a different hand.
