This bookplate consists of a large mantelpiece over a fireplace with several books and objects featured throughout, including urns, candlesticks, matches, and a pipe. At the top is carved Christ's Coll[ege] Cambridge and St. George's Hospital. Just above the fireplace is the year 1899.
A picture of a caduceus in front of a shelf of medical textbooks. In blue ink beneath, over previously crossed-out text, is the name "K. A. Williams". The next line, written along the border below, reads "Box 278, Sterling Hall of Medicine, New Haven, Conn". The bookplate is probably a stock item in which the collector writes his or her name below.
Circular bookplate, with a leafed tree at the in the center, and the sun with numerous rays behind it. An open book is to the left, and a snake coiled around an hourglass is to the right. A phrase above the tree reads Esse Quam Videri.
