The manuscript also contains copies of letters from Dr. William C. McKay, Ranald Macdonald, Gen. C. C. Augur's account of the wars in southern Oregon, and a list of deceased officers who served at Vancouver Barracks, 1849-93. The work consists of a summary of 18 chapters, an appendix, and the complete text of chapters 4, 6, 8, 10, 14, 17 and appendices 1-3 and 5.
