This cephalotribe listed as belonging to William Lusk who taught a Bellevue Medical College. Cephalotribes (headcrushers) first appeared in the early nineteenth century. A cephalotribe was a medical instrument used in obstetrics to crush the skull of stillborn fetuses (cephalotripsy).
