At the helm is a knight's helmet; at the crest is the head of a donkey with a wreath of laurel leaves. Two cherubs support the shield as it is centered on a large cloud with seemingly heavenly light shining behind it. Also seen on the cloud are several books, an hourglass, and a scribe with part of a skeleton featured upon it. The cherubs each hold the end of a banner that features the motto Duce et Auspice Christo.
