Original manuscript notes made by George Meredith as publisher's reader for Chapman and Hall, giving opinions of over 400 books. The foolscap sheets were furnished by the publisher, bearing authors and titles in an unidentified hand, with spaces left for the reader's notes and dated August 10, 1889 - September 17, 1895. With brown paper envelope, torn, endorsed by Meredith.
In a red morocco case.
