Marriage contract, manuscript, ink and paint on paper, dated 14th of Tishre 5639 at Izmir (1878). The text is in Sefardic script surrounded by multicolor floral borders, with gilded lines. Above the text is a triangle with a vase of flowers in the center. The text does not fill the space between the borders. Above the text, in block letters, are blessings for the bride and groom. The signatures of the two witnesses are in the elaborate style common to rabbis in the Mediterranean world and North Africa.
