Abstract:
Papers consist of a draft, typescript, corrected, and other materials relating to Phillips's work on James Fenimore Cooper. Other materials include a bibliography of works relating to Cooper held by Rudolf Drescher, a memorandum of agreement between Phillips and the publisher John Lane Company, correspondence, page proofs, and printed ephemera. Correspondence includes letters from John Lane Company, Dodd Mead, & Company, The University Press, and other publishers.

Abstract:
The collection consists of approximately 80 letters from Earl Amherst of Arracan to his first wife, Sarah, most dating from 1819 and 1820. Subjects include news of family and friends; estate management; and social and political events, including the death of George III. Amherst frequently details debates in the House of Lords and discussions with government officials. A series of 6 letters from November 1819 discusses Amherst's support of the Six Acts in the wake of the Peterloo Massacre and his fear that "the conduct of the Whigs offered the greatest encouragement to the Radicals."

Second wrapper in folder is blank. and William Pitt Amherst, Earl Amherst of Arracan (1773-1857), succeeded as second Baron Amherst of Arracan in 1797. A Lord of the Bedchamber in 1804-1815 and 1816-1823, he served as envoy to Naples 1809-1811 and as special ambassador to China in 1816. He was made Governor-General of India in 1823, successfully led the colony through the First Burmese War, and retired to England in 1828. He died in 1857.

A collection of blueprints, plans, and building permits for Coney Island attractions and for the Witching Waves ride in Detroit and Euclid Beach Park, Cleveland. The Witching Waves ride was originally a Coney Island attraction that was later licensed to other locations. Collection includes plans for rides (such as Witching Waves, Bubble Bounce, Roll-O-Plane, and Thunderbolt), restaurants, arcades, a revolving platform and a miniature golf course, as well as for foundations, pipelines, and concrete piers. Includes also plans for an elephant track and stables for 5 elephants and 5 persons.

Binder containing typescripts and photographs compiled by Maxeda Ferguson von Hesse to document the creation and production of the Beautiful Saralee Dolls. The binder contains an essay regarding the dolls' creation, fifteen black-and-white photographic prints of doll head maquettes created by sculptor Sheila Burlingame (1894-1969), and brief biographies of Sara Lee Creech, Burlingame, and von Hesse, a friend of Creech, who assisted in the production and marketing of the dolls.
