Description: A member of the Royal Audiencia of Mexico and historian, Mariano Fernández was a prominent scholar of Mexican pre-Columbian history in the second half of the eighteenth century. This work constitutes an extensive account of the political, religious and economic organization of the peoples who inhabited Mexico before the Spanish conquest. Contains six watercolor drawings of the toltec calendar, based on Lorenzo Boturini's texts.
