- Henry Krowlow, Private, Co. A, 66th N.Y. Vols., aged 18, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 5th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of right leg, the extent of injury unknown. Wounded, March 31st, 1865, at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. Amputation at right knee joint, antero-posterior flaps, on the field, April 1st, 1865, operator unknown. The condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient at time of operation unknown, but on admission to this hospital they were tolerably good. Patient did very well for awhile, the stump improving, but suffering from erysipelas of the face. The stump soon afterwards became gangrenous, the disease destroying the soft parts.
