"18. Ghardaia [Ghardaïa] - Rue des Légumes." Men and women walk down a street. On one side of the street a women sits and sells vegetables that look like pumpkins. Some cloth is strung over the street between the buildings that rise up on either side. The street is made of dirt.

"2. Les Mehara - Selles au pommeau touareg à la croix appelées R'Halâas." A man sits on the ground next to another man who is holding the ropes attached to two camels. The man with the ropes is playing a wind instrument. The camels have large saddles on them. The men and camels are in the middle of the desert.
"13. Ghardaïa. Vue générale prise du Barrage de Mélika." A man and a boy sit on rocks on a mountain, overlooking the desert, a garden, and a city below. The man wears a hat. The tower of the mosque in the town is in clear view.

The gardens are central, and town buildings stand on either side of them. There is a truck on the lefthand side and some people walking in the gardens. There are gardens between to the two smaller buidlings. In the background there are much smaller homes among trees. It looks like this town is in the middle of the desert.
