The second volume records a series of lectures given by Gould on "Pleas and pleading."

Wesleyan University holds volumes 1, 3, 4, and 7 of what was originally at least a seven volume set., Yale holds volume 2 of what was originally at least a seven volume set. From the Park Family collection., Volume 2: 1 large notebook bound in leather. The folder heading says: "Reeve, Tapping, 1744-1823, and James Gould, 1770-1838. Lectures on law: notebook kept by unidentified student at Litchfield Law School, 1811. -- Even though the folder says unidentified, the spine of the volume contains the following embossed on red leather: “Lectures on Law” and E.F. Tattnall”. There are 250 sheets in this volume, the first 2 and the last 1 of which are unnumbered. The remainder are numbered pages 1-94. Most of the pages contain writing, but there are scattered blank pages, and pages 471-494 at the end of the volume are blank. Second unnumbered page at the beginning of the volume says: "Lectures on Law delivered by the Hon'ble Tapping Reeve, and James Gould Esq,r, at Litchfield Conn't. AD 1811. Vol: 2nd".
