"Swatow [Shantou] Acad. Dormitory: Built of granite and reinforced concrete, proof against typhoons, earthquakes, and white ants. Begun Spring 1918, + finished in the Summer 1919. It is so high we could not get a view from the level without cutting off part of the building. Grounds still to be laid out." The dormitory is situated on a cliff, and the view of it is at an upward angle. Mountains rise behind the building.
"Series XVII. - 6. View from the Rock Top." This aerial view shows many buildings surrounding a pool, as well as the countryside around them. Additional information on the back notes that postcard profits benefit Industrial Schools in India.
"Old Observatory, Peking [Beijing]." Metal astronomical instruments are seen on top of the large stone structure. Three tall poles, possibly lightning rods, are positioned at the roof's corners. A road passes under the building through an arch.

Na zijn noviciaat, op den dag zelve zijner Eerste Geloften, vertrok Pater Lievens naar de missie van Calcutta in Engelsch-Indië (22 Oct. 1880)." The building of the novitiate of the Jesuit Fathers between Drongen and Gent stands across from a river. Additional information directs donations for Indian mission work to Leuven, Netherlands.

"Young Women's Christian Association, Bombay [Mumbai]." This view features two sides of the building, a man walking on the sidewalk, and a car parked in front of the building. There is a handwritten note and address on the back of the postcard.
"Mission Des Pères Blancs. - Ouargla [Wargla]. - Panorama de la ville indigène." There are very few buildings with roofs in this city. A few buildings have domes, but the others appear to be open to the air. It is an old city in need of repair. All of the walls are made of stone. A few palm trees are scattered through the streets.
