They are manipulating small scales; one (left) has his hand in a canister of 'Coffee'. "Extravagantly dressed pedestrians promenade beside (?) the Serpentine. Almost all are arm-in-arm, an exception being an ugly and complacent woman whose face is covered by a long transparent lace veil. The women walk leaning back, as in BM Satires 14438; they point their toes as if at a dancing class, drawing up their skirts, but these are less long. A fashion for stripes for women's dresses and for trousers is apparent, and for patterned materials with scalloped flounces, furbelows, ribbons, and over-trimmed hats. Curled hair frames the face and rests on the shoulders. Waists are still wasp-like for both sexes. Men wear checked neck-cloths with high collars. Much play is made with eye-glasses and canes. "The crowded cabin tilts to the right, to the dismay of a family party dining at a table in the foreground. There is a second table in the background with a meal in progress. The cabin is bordered on left and right by two tiers of berths, apparently for two persons, set in panelling, and with curtains festooned along the upper edge. These are filled by suffering travellers. A bench runs along the front of the berths; other passengers sit on camp-stools. Phases of misery, discomfort, resignation, and (by exception) complacency are realistically illustrated. Abstract:
The new ministry is depicted on a large carousel, erected in front of the "Crown and Royal Bob" Inn. The structure is supported by a center pole held in place by pegs labelled "Treasury," "Navy" and "Army" terminating at the top with the head of the King in the form of a wig block. Fox, with a fox's head and tail, leads the procession, holding a bag of money. Behind him, Lord North on a horse with its legs cut short, loses his wig; Burke in Jesuit's habit and on a similarly lame horse, has partially turned into a skeleton due to his economical reform; Admiral Keppel behind him is desperate to remain seated on his donkey. Lastly a Scotsman labelled "President" signifies Scottish influence over the Crown. Watching from a seat before the Inn, a complacent John Bull mouths slogans of liberty, unaware that his house is being plundered behind him

"A corner of the stage at Drury Lane slants diagonally from left to right, showing part of the orchestra and pit (right) with part of two stage-boxes on the extreme right. The stage manager, Raymond, stands addressing the clamorous audience, while on the left a young man with ass's ears sits on a donkey which flourishes its heels so that they strike the lowered stage-curtain. The donkey brays "Ih ho Ih ho Ih ho," its hind-quarter is branded 'My Pegasus Buz'. Its rider recites: "Nor ever here your smiles would be represt, "Knew you the rival flames that fires our breast, "Flame, Fire and Flame!--sad--woe Neddy! Ladies and Gentlemen, My Papa's Pegasus is so full of fire and spirit that very few are capable of mounting him. for my self I never spoke but once & that was-- Unce logos but if you will give me leave to get on with my Papas Monologue I am positive you will pronounce it the prettiest piece of poetry produced for the purpose." Raymond says: "Ladies and Gentlemen, it was never the intention of the Proprietors to introduce Assess [sic] on these boards but as you seem entertained with their braying if it [is] your wish, we will procure some trainers from the other House as we are really ignorant in the management of thes [sic] Animals." In the foreground a man in the pit shouts pointing to the ass: "Why don't you come down and get up behind don't you see he wants ballast." Six others address the son: "When you have done there--set those Epigrams to Music young Apollo!"; "Off Off Off Off"; "he will be off presently if Neddy kicks so!"; "Go on Go on"; "Speak out you should have brought your Voice with you"; "hear him hear him." The orchestra is empty of performers, but the music scores are headed 'The Judgement of Midas' [O'Keefe's play]. A collection of six gaming counters or monetary tokens from the gambling houses and clubs of Georgian London. Four were made by John Milton (signed "J. Milton f." or "J.M" on the smaller pieces) with an ace of spades encircled with the quote "Honi soit qui mal y pense", wreathed and crowned. The two others by Milton have on the obverse the initials "S.F." (S. Fiuri, in Bury Street St. Mary Axe) and the date "1 May 1792" and a value of "XII" or "VI". The two other Milton counters are marked "S&L" indicating Smith & Lockwood and the other "JL" for John Lister in Haymarket. Another small token in white metal issued by the "Cocoa Tree" with the value on the obverse "One guinea". The last counter in gilt-brass issued by "Free Mason Tavern" and marked "462' in the center and on the obverse "M. Richold Guina." with laurels above and below
Mounted on 34 leaves, a collection of 197 hand-written notes addressed to "the door keeper of the House of Lords" or specifically to Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt, requesting that the bearer of the ticket or the person named be admitted to the House of Lords in August 1820 for the trial of Queen Caroline, all signed and with wax seals. The collector has mounted on some of the tickets cropped portraits from prints, some trimmed from a mezzotint by John Charles Bromley published in 1832 after the painting of the trial by Sir George Hayter, View of the House of Peers During the Trial of Queen Caroline 1820 (now in the National Portrait Gallery, London). Other portraits have been trimmed from an engraving by John Murray and John Porter also after the same Hayter painting. Still other portraits have been trimmed from the engraving "View of the interior of the House of Lords, during the important investigation in 1820" after the painting by J. Stephanoff and engraved by John George Murray. The collection also includes later tickets for admission to the House of Lords in October and November 1822 and on the final leaf, a collection of autographs of other persons associated with the trial of Queen Caroline, such as Thomas Denman, the Lord Chief Justice or William Vizard, Solicitor to the Queen and Also mounted on the sheets are nine subscription forms for various prints published by R. Bowyer, with the signatures of many of the persons associated with the trial of Queen Caroline. Some of the subscription cards have been annotated to indicate a request for a print other than the one indicated on the form. All of this suggesting that the creator of this collection was associated with Robert Bowyer’s business as they had access to the subscription tickets

"Whole length portrait of a man walking (right to left) with a mincing gait, left toe turned out. He looks through an eye-glass with a frowning grimace. His left hand, holding a bludgeon, is on his hip. His hair is cropped and he has side-whiskers, and is dressed in the manner adopted by the rakes and bloods of 1791, wearing a high-crowned hat, a waistcoat with a high collar at the back; his coat is slipped off his shoulder, showing the upper part of his shirt-sleeve. He wears long breeches or pantaloons and very short top-boots, see BMSat 8040, &c. In the background is a piece of water, trees, and buildings. He resembles Lord Barrymore.
