Abstract:: Caroline lies on a sofa within a tent, dressed in her nightclothes and wearing a miniature of Bergami around her neck; her feathered hat rests on the ground, and on the small table beside her sit bottles of "Brandy" and "Essense of Bergamo" and a container of "Rouge". She smiles and looks over at Bergami, who sits beside her, his slippers and hat discarded on the floor below. Above, a man reaches into the tent to take a lit candle in the candlestick from Bergami, who hands it off with a pleased expression on his face. Beside him on the sofa is a book entitled "The Pilgrim's Guide".

Abstract:: "A scene in the House of Commons, showing the Ministerial benches, with the Speaker's Chair and the Table partly cut off by the right margin. The Speaker (Manners Sutton) and one of the Clerks are just within the design. Castlereagh is speaking; he stands in profile to the right, hat in hand, with the Pope on his shoulders. The Pope holds crosier and keys, and wears an odd tiara. A demon crouches on his shoulders dressed as an acolyte, but displaying a cloven hoof; a mask with bland features (a device deriving from Gillray, cf. British Museum Satires No. 11384) is tied in front of his black horned head; he holds up a lighted candle, and clutches the Pope's hair. Castlereagh, with a blandly disingenuous smile: "I have the authority of the Head of the Catholic Church, for saying that there is no solidity in the objection taken on the other side: thus I am legislating with the Pope at my back!!!" The benches behind Castlereagh are crowded; the members listening intently; all wear hats, except Peel who sits immediately behind Castlereagh's empty seat, on the corner of which he has put a hat, inscribed 'Peel'. He looks up to say: "I hope that when the noble Lord observed that [he was legislating with the Pope at his back] he had no allusion to me, even if the noble Lord were willing to put the Popedom in Commission, I should not be willing to accept the office of one of the Commissioners." Abstract:: "A fat old woman leans back in an armchair, her left leg thrust forward. She pulls up her petticoat to display the bare leg, on which is a running sore, to an aged doctor (right), who bends over it, holding his spectacles to his eyes. Her desperate plight is apparent in the fixed stare with which she looks up and to the right. By her side (left) is a bottle and glass. Abstract:: "Four elderly whist-players, broadly burlesqued. A grotesque woman (left), holding a hand of five low cards in all suits, exclaims (words below the title): "O Lor' Sir! I've | "Lost my Honor!"; she tilts her head so that the aigrette in her turban burns in a candle (unnoticed by the players). Her furious partner: "Then Ma'am You shou'dn't | "have played the Odd Trick.
