"After the title: 'fully accow [crossed out and replaced with a 'u'] --tred the Hero lay.' Above the design: 'Review--PI 2.' Wellington, sword in hand, falls from his horse, his white trousers crashing into a patch of cow-dung. He wears (in place of his field-marshal's cocked hat) a bearskin so enormous that it may well have overbalanced him. His horse stands beside him, pawing the ground. Behind (right) a group of mounted officers watch the accident. On the left two privates in huge bearskins stand at attention."--British Museum online catalogue

Abstract:
"George IV as the 'Great Babe' lies asleep in his cradle rocked by Lady Conyngham, while Wellington, seated before a pier-glass, places the crown on his own head. The glass reflects the dark emaciated features of British Museum Satires No. 15520. The Duke wears a uniform with boots and sword. On a table below the glass the sceptre and orb lie on a cushion. Lady Conyngham, with a towering coiffure as in British Museum Satires No. 15508, croons: Oh slumber my darling | The time may soon come | When thy rest may be broken | By Trumpet & Drum [the last three words in large letters]. The infant sucks a thumb; a gouty foot projects from the coverlet. On the floor is a line of toys: a sailing boat on wheels, a model of Buckingham Palace reconstructed by Nash as in British Museum Satires No. 15668, a giraffe (see British Museum Satires No. 15425), a Life Guard on a toy horse, a Foot-Guard, a dismantled or unfinished ship resting on a prostrate toy soldier. "George IV, a crutch under his left arm, takes Wellington's left arm, looking up at him with a pleased smile, which Wellington returns. He says: This is not the only time that you have Lent me a helping hand!! The Duke answers: Proud to be Your ----tys Staff. The King, plainly dressed but with the Garter ribbon and star, has a much swathed gouty leg supported in a sling from the neck. Wellington wears uniform, with orders, white satin breeches, and pumps; on his garter the word Honi is conspicuous. "Wellington's head, in profile to the right, projects from a huge spurred boot, showing the upper part of his embroidered collar. He wears an enormous field-marshal's cocked hat. He has a satisfied smile, the eyes turned towards the spectator. On each point of the large star-shaped spur is a letter, to indicate some of his many orders: K.G. C.H. G G. C.B. "A farmyard scene, with a corner of the house on the left. A grossly fat and carbuncled parson on a quest for tithes encounters the farmer's wife, who runs towards him proffering an open bandbox, with a dangling lid inscribed 10th. A miniature hussar, very dandified in shako and pelisse, stands in it, superciliously inspecting the parson through an eye-glass. The woman, who is plump and well-dressed, wearing apron and bonnet, says: Seeing your Reverence comeing for your Tithes, I have brought you a Tenth. The parson, who holds a large book, Tithe list, and has a chicken in his capacious pocket, answers with a scowl and gesture of refusal: Take it back! take it back! good Woman; I never tithe Monkeys. The little hussar says: Eh! eh! what does that there fellow say? An amused yokel with a pitchfork leans over a gate (left). A cock crows on a dunghill, an ass brays. Abstract:
"A leech with the head and barrister's wig of Leach is coiled round an upright cylindrical document to which is tied with red tape a second bill; these are respectively 'Bill of Pains . . .' [see British Museum Satires No. 13825] and 'Divorce'. Propped against the former are two green bags (see British Museum Satires No. 13735), both closed with a large red seal on which is a 'G.R.' monogram. These are inscribed 'Fill'd with Filth and Lies!!!' and 'Lies . . . [L]ies'. With them are other large documents: 'List of Witness[es] against Q . . . N'; 'Expen[ces] & Bribes at Milan'; 'Protoc[ol]' (cf. British Museum Satires No. 13764). The small shambling Wilberforce is being pushed towards the leech by Castlereagh (left), who is a pendant to the more stalwart and bulky Duke of York (right). The Duke wears uniform, holds his unsheathed sword, and has a pyramid of cannon-balls crooked in his left arm. A paper, 'Bp Osnabu[rgh]', is thrust through his sash. He says fiercely: "Rascals! Villains!! Traitors!!! I have set the Claret running in One Place, and if any of you attempt, to deprive me of My succession, I will make your Bodies, a thoroughfare for York dumplings!! alias Artillery Bolouses." Castlereagh, with a scourge hanging from his pocket, says to Wilberforce: "O dear! O dear! That Bishop quite alarms me, now my dear Christian Friend, pray do persuade that great Horse Leech to muster up all his Italian Witnesses [see British Museum Satires No. 13762, &c.] immediately or that Military Bishop [cf. British Museum Satires No. 11227] will send us to Kingdom come along with out Master." Wilberforce holds a book: 'New Litany &c'; a Pet[ition] To Q--N' is under his arm; a paper, 'Slave Tra[de]' (cf. British Museum Satires No. 8793) hangs from his pocket. He says: "Pray Sr--Horse Leech, endeavour to stop the Q--'s mouth by bringing the whole host of Witnesses, before the L--ds, so as to Crush Her at once, otherwise that Terrable Bishop, will send us into Abrahams bosom, sooner, than We wish.""--British Museum online catalogue
