Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number, 20,459, John A. Dixon, John A. Dixon, Serg't, Co. I, 116th Pa. Vols., aged 32, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 12th, 1865, suffering from gunshot wound of left leg, lower third, the ball injuring soft parts. Wounded, March 31st, 1865 at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Patient did tolerably well up to May 10th, 1865, when parts became gangrenous. Result favorable. Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number 20,215., Jarvis H. Kelly, Private, Co. H, 185 N.Y. Vols., aged 26, was admitted to the Harewood Gen. Hospital April 2d, 1865, with gun shot wound of back, near right shoulder. The ball passed upwards and came out near clavicle of same side. In its passage it fractured the acromion process. Wounded March 29th, 1865, at battle of Hatcher's Run, Va. On admission constitution was good, and wound in good condition. Treatment.—Several spiculæ of bone were removed, and simple dressings used. Gen'l Hospital, April 16th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of right shoulder, the ball entering near the middle of scapula, making its exit over the middle of left scapula, injuring soft parts. Wounded, April 6th, 1865, at the battle of Sailors' Creek, Va. On admission the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good. Patient was doing well when transferred to U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., May 28th, 1865., Jacob F. Simmons., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In charge.

General Hospital April 6th, 1865, with gunshot wound left shoulder, the ball entered one inch below clavicle, and passed out through superior fossa of scapula. Wounded March 31st, 1865, at the Battle of Hatcher's Run, Va. On admission the parts were in good condition, and constitution good. Treatment: light nourishing and supporting diet, and simple dressings. Transferred to U.S. Gen. Hospital, Troy, N.Y., doing well and parts nearly healed., J. L. Smith., R. B. Harewood U.S.A. General Hospital,, Hospital Number 20,606, Israel Spotts, Corp'l, Co. G, 200th Pa. Vols., aged 24, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 5th, 1865, suffering from gunshot wound of back, dorsal region, ball entered the chest opposite the fourth dorsal vertebræ, between the spine and scapula. Wounded, March 25th, 1865, at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. On admission, the condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient were good; did very well for a while, wound healing kindly, but towards the early part of the month of May the chest became enormously distended with effusion, harassing cough, anxiety of countenance, oppressed breathing and symptoms of empyema. An operation being necessary to relieve the patient paracentesis thoracis was performed by Surg. R. B. Bontecou, U.S. Vols., May 9th, 1865, by freely opening the chest at right posterior and lateral aspect, between eighth and ninth ribs, and about six pints of sanious pus removed, no anæsthetic used; the patient felt at once relieved, did remarkably well after the operation; was doing well and in tolerably good condition when he deserted from this hospital, May 28th, 1865. Treatment in this case was simple dressings, anodynes and supporting throughout., Israel Spotts., R. B. BONTECOU,, and Surgeon U.S. Vols., In Charge.

General Hospital from City Point April 12th, wounded April 2nd at Petersburg Va., by a minnie ball, which entered at left superior maxillary bone, facial surface, passing inwards and downwards into the mouth destroying all the upper teeth, left side. Henry Krowlow, Private, Co. A, 66th N.Y. Vols., aged 18, was admitted to Harewood U.S.A. Gen'l Hospital, April 5th, 1865, suffering from gun shot wound of right leg, the extent of injury unknown. Wounded, March 31st, 1865, at the battle of Petersburgh, Va. Amputation at right knee joint, antero-posterior flaps, on the field, April 1st, 1865, operator unknown. The condition of injured parts and constitutional state of patient at time of operation unknown, but on admission to this hospital they were tolerably good. Patient did very well for awhile, the stump improving, but suffering from erysipelas of the face. The stump soon afterwards became gangrenous, the disease destroying the soft parts.
