Abstract:: "Lady Conyngham stands directed to the left, feet apart, dressed as in British Museum satires no. 15720; she amusingly combines the ultra-feminine with masculine attributes and stance. She is immensely fat and wide with small cherubic features and curls; under her left arm is a cocked blunderbuss. She wears a wide-brimmed hat, a neckcloth fastened with a jewelled crown, a coach-guard's greatcoat, wide open over her tight-waisted dress. A pouch hangs from her shoulder and two coach-horns from her left arm. Above her head: 'I says to our Governor says I--keep your eye on them ere Leaders George'; i.e. on Lyndhurst and Scarlett, see British Museum satires nos. 15720, 15850. Cf. Abstract:: A countryman, with companion horse and dog, stands outside of a city gate pleading with two guardsmen to permit him entry. His plea begins, "Hollo! you Master Whiskers don't keep me here in the cold all night. If you want to know who I am I tell you I am an Elector for Middlesex!" One guard responds, "Elector of Middlesex!! I never heard of that elector before, he must be a great man, open the gates immediately."

Abstract:: Copy (reversed) of the first state of Plate 8 of Hogarth's 'The Rake's Progress' (Paulson 139), after the painting at Sir John Soane's Museum.: A scene in Bedlam with Tom half-naked and in a state of distress attended by Sarah Young, a clergyman, and a warder; in the background, an inmate who believes himself to be God has cheap prints of saints pinned to his cell wall. Two elegantly dressed female visitors whisper together, the one holding a fan against her face to shield from her view an inmate in a cell who believes he is King and sits naked, save for a crown, urinating on his straw bed. The wall and the banister of a staircase to the right are covered with various graffiti including calculations of longitude
