From the patch of grass oak branches with leaves and acorns extend into inner and upper margins. In inner margin, a fox chasing a hare. Folio 80r, a medallion framed in red and pink and four small gold flowers, with an unidentified monogram in gold against blue ground. One pen-and-ink initial, 8-line, blue with pale red penwork. Appears to have been bound at the Benedictine abbey of St. Martin of Spanheim in the diocese of Mainz.

In Latin., Script: Apparently 8 scribes, all writing Southern Gothica., Decoration: The decoration of artt. 1-4 consists of heightening of the majuscules in yellow; blue or red paragraph marks. In art. 3 the chapters normally open with a 2-line (rarely 3-line) flourished initial with penwork extensions in the left margin or in the intercolumnar space, alternately red with purple or blue penwork and blue with red penwork; the first lemma of each letter opens with a 3- or 4-line flourished initial filled with foliage and with more developed marginal extensions. The text opens on f. 5v with a 5-line dentelle initial with green and blue background heightened with gold and white, followed by 5 lines of text mostly in majuscules. The decoration of art. 7 is similar to that of art. 3 but less carefully executed., and Binding: Eighteenth century (?). White parchment over pasteboard, with two modern brass clasps fixed to the front cover. On the spine green leather label with gold-tooled title "SUMA MAGISTRA". On the bottom edge the title "Summa Pisa****" is written.

Scribe 1) ff. 1r-37v, 67v-75v; Scribe 2) ff. 39r-67r., One 6-line initial, red and blue, filled with red and blue penwork in a floral pattern. 4-, 2-, and 1-line pen initials, red, with long trailing serifs and blue calligraphic flourishes. 2- and 1-line initials outside text column. On f. 1r, arms of the duchy of Austria (crudely executed; later addition?):, or, two eagles palewise displayed and crowned sable (Hungary): impaled with barry of 6 gules and argent; supported by griffins passant gules; the whole set between thick pink bands. Sewn on three supports, the two outer ones leather, the central one tawed skin, laid and nailed in channels in wooden boards. Written in the middle of the 15th century, perhaps ca. 1456 when the codex was given to John Capgrave by Jacobus de Oppenheim. Capgrave was elected in August of 1455 to another 2-year term as head of the English Augustinian Province. In 1457 he resumed his literary interests, including work on a universal chronicle from the beginning of the world until the year 1417; this endeavor resulted in the Chronicle of England produced ca. 1462., In Latin., Script: Written by three scribes. Scribe 1) ff. 1r-105v, 60 lines of text written in a small and even, slightly rounded gothic bookhand.
