Part II (ff. 7-57): Written in fere-humanistic script by one scribe. Spaces left for initials. A large gap in the text occurs between Parts II and III (6.587 to 7.744). Part III (ff. 58-112): Written by a single scribe in a script similar to that in Part II., Spaces left for initials., Many pages unattached due to the brittle binding., and Binding: 16th-17th centuries (?). Sewn on three slit leather straps. There is no indication of an earlier sewing, but the book was extensively mended before it was sewn. Tawed cores of plain wound endbands laid in grooves. Beech boards with rectangular channels on the outside in which the straps are nailed. The spine is lined with brown leather and the book covered in dark brown sheepskin faintly blind-tooled with a central diamond made up of arches with small ornaments scattered in and around it. Tongue turn-ins. There are two catches on the lower board and traces of red and cream silk ribbons nailed to the upper one with star-headed nails. The title is painted in red on the spine.

Parchment stays are adhered to inner and outer conjugate leaves of quires. Original wound sewing on three tawed skin, slit straps laid in channels on the outside of beech boards. The endbands, which are wanting, were sewn on tawed skin cores laid in grooves and nailed or held in place by the bosses; they were tied down through a tawed skin spine lining. Covered in sheepskin, originally brick red, with the surface now badly rubbed and shedding. Corner tongues. Blind-tooled with an X in concentric frames. Four leaf-shaped catches with three flowers on each on the lower board, one wanting; the upper board cut in for two kermes pink straps attached with star-headed nails. Five flower-shaped bosses on each board and the trace of a chain attachment at the tail of the lower one.

The title on the first front flyleaf (art. 1) is by another hand writing a bold Southern Gothica Textualis Formata (the same hand wrote the beginning of the alphabet on the facing pastedown). Art. 2 is copied by an unexperienced hand in Humanistica Cursiva Currens, but the date and the first line are by another hand writing Humanistica Cursiva Libraria., In art. 3 the opening letter of each lemma is a pale red 1-line capital projecting into the left margin. Each new alphabetical section begins with a 2- or 3-line capital alternately in red and blue (with a guide letter in the left margin), placed within the text area and followed by a black capital. Between the sections a space of two or three lines is left free., and Binding: Original brown leather over wooden boards (worm-eaten), spine with three raised bands; both covers blind-tooled with a frame of strapwork; in its interior two horizontal rows of quadrangular stamps at the top and at the bottom (a rosette and a Pascal Lamb) and a lozenge-shaped central part of the same strapwork. Five pointed brass bosses on each cover (together eight of them are preserved) and remnants of two clasps attached to the front cover by means of two nails with engraved heads; the quadrangular brass catches on the rear cover are engraved with a Pascal Lamb.

Scribe 1 was responsible for the commentary and left ample space to supply the text of Hesiod; he did not complete his task. Scribe 2 supplied the first two verses of each Hesiod passage under discussion, wrote the final twelve lines of commentary contained in the codex (ff. 68v-69r), and added the heading and initials in red. All the additions of Scribe 2 are in a darker ink and bolder style of writing; he is the same scribe as that in MS 257, and as Scribe 3 in MS 290 and Scribe 1 in MS 490., Two headpieces in black ink (ff. 1r, 9r); heading and two initials on f. 1r in red., and Binding: 18th-19th centuries. Paper case, "alla rustica". The name of Tzetzes is still legible on front cover. Both the style of binding and the hand on the front cover are the same as those for Beinecke MS 290.
