- Abstract:
- "A fight between Lyndhurst and Peel with Ellenborough and Wellington as bottle-holders. Lyndhurst (left), in Chancellor's wig and gown, staggers back, arms flung out, at a punch on the nose from Peel who lunges forward, ruthlessly pugnacious. Ellenborough, dressed and behaving as a dandy (in tight-waisted blue coat and white bell-shaped trousers), holding a tubular eau-de-cologne bottle, emblem of the dandy, cf. BM Satires No. 13031, registers alarm, exclaiming, 'Oh! Oh! my dear Lud, take care--he's a terrible hitter--or he'll have your Ludship's dear head in Chancery.' Wellington (right), in uniform with sword, gauntlets, and heavily spurred cavalry boots, says: 'That's it Bob; serve him out--He won't ride rusty after this I know.'"--British Museum online catalogue

Shelburne (right) stands, half within, half outside the gate, his left foot on the outside; he has a cynically complacent smile and is putting into Barré's left hand a paper inscribed "Pension 3000£ pr Ann". Beneath the design is engraved: 'Rome's Veteran fought her rebel Foes, And thrice her Empire saved, Yet thro' her Streets bow'd down with Woes, An humble pittance craved. - Abstract:
- "A squalid domestic interior: the Prince of Wales (right) and Mrs. Fitzherbert (left) sit facing each other on each side of an open fireplace. A calf's head suspended from a string roasts before the fire. She mends a pair of breeches which he has taken off; on the breeches and on his left leg the word 'Honi' is conspicuous. He is out at elbows though fashionably dressed. Next to Mrs. Fitzherbert and on the extreme left is an infant in a wicker cradle, on rockers; the Prince negligently holds a string attached to the cradle. On the wall is a ballad: 'A Begging We will go &c.' The Prince of Wales' feathers also decorate the wall. On the extreme right is a small table, scantily laid for one. Weltje kneels beside it, unpacking a basket of potatoes. He looks round at George Hanger who stands behind the table in profile to the left holding a mug."--British Museum online catalogue

Encore." The King says to the bejewelled Queen: "No! no! no Jacobins here all Loyal all Loyal, Charming Man the Author eh! charming Man, never saw him in such a good light before." Three princesses follow; one says: "bless me I never saw that General at Court". Behind are two princes in uniform with gorgets, evidently the Dukes of York and Cumberland. On the floor by Sheridan are two papers: 'Maidstone Loyalty' [see British Museum Satires No. 9245, &c], and '[Tomorr]ow Evening performed a new play called the Loyal Author to which will be added a Peep behind the Curtain Vivan[t] Rex et Regina'.
