A drawing of the Holbein Chamber at Horace Walpole's home, Strawberry Hill in Twickenham. An arched passageway is seen near the center of the image, thorough which a canopy bed and a chair are visible. On either side of the passageway are pierced arches forming a screen, the design for which was taken from the gates of the choir of Rouen. Wooden furniture lines the wall of the room at left, above which framed works of art hang. Across the room on the right is the chimneypiece designed after the tomb of Archbishop Warham at Canterbury; an embroidered firescreen and two blue vases sit in front of the fireplace. The ornate ceiling, taken from the Queen's dressing-room at Windsor, dominates the top half of the image; a large, colorful rug sits on the floor in the center of the room

The back of the door is decorated with Gothic tracery; the corners of the doorway, as well as the ceiling above, have quatrefoils in their ornamentation. Two armchairs upholstered in floral fabric sit on either side of the door. The chair on the left sits next to Japan cabinet with two branched candlesticks and the basalt head of Jupiter Serapis (?) on top of it; a vase decorated with arms and the ring device of the Medici rests beneath it. The chair on the right sits next to a Japan coffer on a gilt frame, a vase of Florentine fayence beneath it. On the wall above the door hangs the portrait of Margaret Lemon. Further left on the wall a landscape painting is partially visible; the left half of Nicolo Poussin's painting The education of Jupiter can be seen hanging on the wall to the right.
