A Spanish version of Gillray’s 1803 satire ‘Maniac Raving’s-or-Little Boney in a Strong Fit’, the texts in the plate adapted to the Spanish relationship with France during the Peninsular War - after the invading French armies were defeated by the Spanish in Andalusia at the Battle of Bailen ‘Napoleon is frantic with rage at the news from Spain... He blames Godoy (whom he had made ‘Prince of the Algarves’) for deceiving him, apostrophizes Talleyrand, reproaches Dupont, and his second-in-command Vedel, for the capitulation of Baylen... his deceptions are discovered by the ‘perfidious Englishman’, probably Sir Hew Dalrymple, the Governor of Gibraltar’ (British Museum catalogue).

"British troops are about to march through a large fortified gate leading from open country (left) to the town of Buenos Ayres, where confused street-fighting is in progress. Can are fired from the battlements of the gate at the soldiers, some of whom lie dead or wounded. In the foreground an officer (mounted), in conversation with others, asks: "where is the General"; others say: "go look for the General"; "Find the General"; "why the General is lost". A Highland officer, taking snuff (right), slyly; "I dare say he is varra safe." From the country (left) three mounted men gallop, all saying, "I come for Orders". In the background Whitelocke's head and shoulders are seen peeping over a hillock on the extreme left. He says: "He that fights and runs away, May live to fight another day, But he thats in the Battle slain, Will never live to fight again". In the distance, behind him, are tiny (British) soldiers in close formation. In the city men are firing and hurling stones from the roofs of flat-roofed houses on British soldiers in the plaza. "Satire on the financial crisis of 1720 (based, partly in reverse, on 1868,0808.9612) the courtyard of the Amsterdam Exchange now standing for stockbroking in London. The banner now lists 42 investment schemes, including "Robin's Fishery for Gudgeons", (an allustion to Robert Knight, cashier of the South Sea Company), and "Moore's most Royal Fishery" (alluding to Arthur Moore, director of the South Sea Company); in the colonnades and at the front stockbrokers and investors, including a man in middle Eastern dress, celebrate their successes or bemoan their losses as they circulate documents; in niches above are figures of Fortune and Plenty both casting papers labelled with the names of speculations; the clock is no longer labelled "Quinquenpoix". On the left, Charles James Fox sits on a chair, his gouty left foot resting on a stool, his right hand holding a crutch. Behind him is a paper which reads "Plan to discharge the Nation[al] Debt". His right arm reaches out to a group of angry citizens confronting him with their complaints and pleas for relief. He says to them: "Gentlemen! I have been looking over my affairs, and give you my word of Honor you shall all be paid this day twelve month." A butcher, baker, orphan child, a nurse, and other troubled citizens voice their complaints in separate speech bubbles

"A broadside satirising Robert Walpole with an etching in two parts. In the left-hand scene Frederick, Prince of Wales, stands with the Duke of Argyll and other gentlemen, pointing to the left where George II embraces Britannia. In the foreground, the grotesque figure of Walpole, wearing a coronet, kneels holding in five hands, bags of French and Spanish gold and another lettered, "I am Lord Corruption". Behind him stands his daughter, Lady Mary, toying with a coronet. On the ground beside Walpole, the French cock perches on the back of the exhausted Imperial Eagle, but the British lion watching the conflict growls, "Now I'm rousing". In the background, the white horse of Hanover kicks a man off a high rock; the man cries, "I'm lost"; a ship lies at anchor off Cartagena observed from another high rock to right by Admiral Vernon whose impetus towards the city is restrained by General Wentworth; below these two men sits Admiral Haddock chained to a rock (a reference to the limitation of his resources in dealing with the combined Spanish and French Mediterranean fleets). "Five heads surround a taper whose flame is the head in profile to the left of George III. The taper rises from the centre of a crown which rests on a tasselled cushion in the foreground. On the left is Sheridan in profile, his face disfigured by drink, puffing angrily; next is Fox facing three-quarter length to the right, with a fierce expression. Next is the Prince of Wales, alarmed and rather fierce; beside him is Mrs. Fitzherbert, wearing breeches round her shoulders, one leg terminating in a garter inscribed 'Honi Soit...' The ribbon of her night-cap is decorated with the Prince's feathers and 'Ich dien'. On the extreme right is Grey, puffing intently, his blast directed at the back of the King's head.
