On f. 1r, black penwork initial with floral design in center, on square pale red-orange ground, outlined in black; large rectangular frame, in black, connects initial to unidentified arms (or a castle [tower?] proper surrounded by vine, in chief azure [with label of cadency of 4 points argent?] with charge [stars or crosses?] argent) in lower margin. On f. 26r, angular scroll, green with pale red and orange trim, unfurls to form the letter A, 5-line, with an arrow shot through the two shafts to serve as crossbar; green foliage sprouting above. Initials, 5- to 2-line, of similar scroll design for each paradoxon. Rubric on f. 1r in a different hand from those in rest of manuscript. Many elegant pointing hands with fancy cuffs in margins., and Binding: Nineteenth century, Italy. Quarter bound in vellum with blue, red, and yellow woodblock paste-paper sides. Full-page portraits of the Evangelists. Ornate frames, headpieces, marginal decorations. Zoomorphic letters, ornate initials., Binding: leather over boards. Front cover has metal cross and other ornaments; rear cover is stamped. Patterned linen doublures on inside covers., Colophon (fols. 298v-299v) indicates the manuscript was written for Ovanē Ōrpēli (also Awrpēli), a member of the Ōrbelean family which held extensive domains in the same province. Codex was executed at the monastery of Noravank' by the scribe Momik, who was assisted by the vardapet Pawłos. These two scribes completed the greater part of the writing by AE 756 (=AD 1307), when Momik had serious trouble with his eyes. Manuscript was completed by another scribe, Yohanēs or Yovhannēs. Momik recovered his sight in AE 780 (=AD 1331) and wrote the colophon in which he gives interesting information concerning the copy of the manuscript and the feudal lords of Siwnikʻ. The book then passed into the possession of Archbishop Step'anos-Tarsayič, also a member of the Ōrbelean family. In AD 1331 Archbishop Step'anos-Tarsayič had the manuscript "adorned with gold and silver" by order of prince Biwrt'ēl, the head of the Ōrbelean family. Since replaced by current leather binding., and In AE 855 (=AD 1406) the manuscript belonged to a priest named Sēt' (fol. 235r). Later inscriptions indicate that the manuscript was acquired by the craftsman Awēt and his brothers and sons, who in turn offered it to the church of Surb Yakob (St. James) in the town of Cʻałman (fol. 235v); a second indicates the manuscript subsequently belonged to an individual named And[r]ēas and his sons (fol. 236r).

In Latin., Written by two scribes in tiny gothic textura. Scribe 1: ff. 2v-91v; Scribe 2: ff. 91v (last folio of quire 8)-95v. Several later hands have added scribbles, prayers, and inscriptions on ff. 1r-2r, 10r, 95v, 96r, 97v, 98r, 99r., Small (6-line) and rather crude historiated initials. The initials for Ps. 52 (the Fool) and Ps. 109 (the Trinity) are missing. In each initial, the figure drawn in black and colored pink, green, and/or blue on a gold ground; the initials attached to cusped, tapering bar border, blue, red, and gold, with white highlights, with ivy terminal, black with red and green leaves. Gold and blue calligraphic initials (2-line), with blue and red penwork respectively; 1-line initials, alternating red and blue. KL monograms, gold on red and blue, with white highlights. Because the initial I was placed in the margin without an inset space in the text, the illuminator often missed it (e.g., for Ps. 70 on f. 42r; for Ps. 113 on f. 62r, and for Ps. 125 on f. 68v)., and Binding: 15th-16th centuries. Resewn on three two-layered tapes of tawed skin attached to wooden boards. The endband cores are of tawed skin with a tawed skin braid at the head, a new endband added at the tail. The spine is square and the cover adhered to it. Covered in tawed skin, originally pink, with corner tongues. Cover repaired at spine and two corners and two silver clasps added. In a flexible grey leather pouch.
