- Manuscript, on parchment, in Gothic script, produced in Flanders during the fourth quarter of the thirteenth century.
- Description:
- Binding: dark brown calf skin over pasteboards (sixteenth or seventeenth century)., Decorations include a half-page initial on f. 43r (six other half-page initials have been cut from the manuscript) and illustrations of the labors of the months in the calendar., On the calendar page for December, St. Thomas of Canterbury's name has been erased from its place, indicating English ownership at least in the sixteenth century., and The back flyleaf has, in two fourteenth century hands, a French song "Une bon chanson ay troue" and a Middle English carol "Mayde and moder, glade thou be."

- A composite manuscript written in different locations and periods: Part I was written in Italy in the first half of the 14th century; Part II was probably written in England (or Northern France?) at the end of the 13th or beginning of the 14th century. The index was added on blank leaves in Italy in the 14th century, perhaps at the same time that Parts I and II were joined together to form the present codex. and Manuscript on parchment composed of two distinct parts. Part I: 1) Brief prologues to the Pauline Epistles, paraphrasing or extracted from the argumenta of Haimo of Auxerre, Expositio in epistolas Sancti Pauli. 2-4) Notes for sermons arranged according to the liturgical year. Part II: 5) Unidentified sermons. 6) John of Wales, Breviloquium.

Brown calf case, blind-tooled., Part I: Red initials, 3- to 2-line, with crude harping designs in black; headings and paragraph marks (art. 3) in red. Instructions for rubricator. Part II: Flourished initials, 3- to 2-line, alternate red and blue with penwork designs in the opposite color. Paragraph marks alternate red and blue; headings, often added in margin, in red. Remains of guide letters for decorator., Purchased from C. A. Stonehill in 1958 by Thomas E. Marston., and Script: Part I (ff. 1-24): Scribe I copied ff. 1r-6v in small gothic bookhand with southern features; Scribe II copied ff. 7r-24r in a somewhat more angular gothic bookhand; additions by different scribes on f. 24r-v. Part II (ff. 25-78): Arts. 5-6 copied in small neat gothic bookhand, by a single scribe; some marginalia added in anglicana script (e.g., f. 46v); art. 7 added in a less careful gothic bookhand.

- Manuscript on paper (thick, coarse) of Lives of the Saints, preceded by accounts of events in the Bible from both the Old and New Testaments. Folios 51 and 61 interchanged in rebinding.

- Binding: Nineteenth century, Italy. Rigid vellum case with two red labels on spine: "Trattati di storia sacra" and "Manuscritto 1360"., Crudely executed title page, f. 1r, consisting of floral and foliage motifs in upper margin, scroll around column in inner margin, and, in outer margin, scroll around column terminating in elongated arm with text on the scroll (much rubbed and stained). In lower margin a coat of arms (damaged; probably: or, two columns gules); the letters B and C on either side in the bases of columns in inner and outer margins. The decoration of title page in bright red and green. Plain initials (some with simple foliage designs), headings, paragraph marks, pointing hands, and hands holding crosses or symbols of passions of martyrs (e. g., gridiron for Laurence), all in bright red, green, and/or black., Folio 1 damaged; no loss of text., Script: Written by several scribes in unruly mercantesca script, above top line. Script becomes smaller and tighter toward end of codex., and Watermarks: similar in design to Briquet Ciseaux 3708 dated Genoa, 1465.

- Binding: Modern three-quarter binding of light brown buckram, plain brown niger back and corners, the back with five (false?) raised bands, gilt-lettered in the second compartment from the top, ANTIDOTARIUM NICOLAI, and at the foot of the spine, "AB. 1460". Plain edges., Blank binder's leaves not scanned., Large capitals in red at text divisions, sometimes with slight pen ornament, other capitals stroked red throughout, fancy ascenders on top lines transgressing the upper rules and stroked red, similar descenders occasionally below the bottom bordering line, usually not colored., Modern pencil foliation., On paper., Script: Neatly written in a gothic cursive hand., and Watermarks: Two batches of unidentified paper watermarked with a gothic "P," the mark plain and smaller in one batch, larger and surmounted by a trefoil in the other.

- The diaries describe an 1849 expedition by way of St. Joseph, Fort Kearney, Fort Laramie, South Pass, Sublette's Cut-off, Bear River, Cantonment Loring, Raft River, the Humboldt, Lassen's Route to Deer Creek, and Bruff's camp. They contain maps and sketches from the journey and notes on life in California. The journals were written from the diaries. The notebooks contain more sketches from the trip and of equipment. There are memoranda of supplies and equipment, routes, and remedies.
