He wears a high-crowned hat, a voluminous swathing round his neck apparently of spotted gauze; a high collar at the back of his head reaches his hat-brim. His breeches are high in the waist and long in the leg where they are tied; low wrinkled top-boots show striped stockings. His coat is cut away to form tails.
