"Two men, whole length, walk to the right. in profile. One (right) is tall and slim, dressed in the extreme of fashion, with laced hat, lace-trimmed cravat, and shirt frills. He wears a sword and looks through a lorgnette held in his left hand. In the right is a tasselled cane. His looped club of hair is so enormous that it is supported on the head and shoulders of the short stout man (apparently a porter), who walks behind him, holding his coat-tails and grinning."--British Museum online catalogue
