The foreground and the gallery are filled with couples, in general elderly, ugly, and fashionably dressed, in conversation or bowing to each other. An unicorn on a monument holding an escutcheon is conspicuous. On the right the congregation is crowding towards the open door

In the lady's hand is the leash for her pet squirrel, who investigates a basket of peaches on the table.
