Title devised by cataloger., Date from Horace Walpole correspondence to Sir Horace Mann 20 November 1757: "... a new Gothic columbarium is a new thought of my own, of which I am fond and going to execute at Strawberry Hill.", With a note in Horace Walpole's hand in ink in lower right: N.B. There is an error in this drawing. The radius of the bow, wanting near a foot. The Ichnog will correct it., With watermark along lower edge of paper, trimmed: D and C Blauw., and Formerly mounted on leaf 49 in an album assembled by Horace Walpole: Drawings and designs by Richd.
