Title etched below image., Proof state, with the word "Proof" etched beneath title., "Samuel William Reynolds I issued a series of upwards of 350 small mezzotints after Sir Joshua Reynolds, from Bayswater, in four volumes. The engraved title-page is dated 1820, but many plates were issued a few years later. ... Some of these plates are stated to have been engraved by Samuel Cousins when an apprentice to S.W.
