(1988 Folio 76), Eleventh edition of the "Ernestinische, Kurfürsten oder Weimarer Bibel" (first published in 1611) edited under the auspices of Ernst, duke of Saxe-Weimar by Johann Gerhard, Salomon Glass and others. cf. G. W. Panzer's Geschichte der nürnbergischen ausgaben der Bibel, 1778, p. 198, and Brit. and for. Bible soc., Hist. cat., no. 4217, note., The greater part of the engravings are by Christoph Weigel., The Illustrations Include eleven full length portraits of the dukes of Saxony, with biography on verso facing each portrait. Maps have descriptive text on versos., and Title in red and black, with vignette; text within line borders; head and tall pieces; initials.
