Manuscript, in multiple hands, of a collection of several dozen secular and lighthearted poems, primarily on the subject of love, though a few poems concern drinking and tobacco. The manuscript contains numerous love poems by Sir John Suckling and Thomas Carew; other poets in the volume include Sir Robert Ayton, John Wilbye, and John Fletcher. An anonymous poem consists of a pastoral dialogue between Phyllis and Strephon; several are addressed to Chloris; and numerous others are set to the tunes of other songs.

Binding: Fifteenth century, Italy. Sewn on three tawed skin, kermes pink slit straps nailed in channels on the outside of the wooden boards. Yellow edges. The plain wound endbands may have been resewn. The spine is lined with cloth. Covered in brown, originally tan, sheepskin with corner tongues. Blind-tooled with two rope interlace stars in a central panel bordered with concentric frames. Spine: bands outlined with double fillets; panels diapered with triple fillets. Two truncated diamond fastenings, the catches on the lower board (one wanting), the upper board cut in for straps attached with star-headed nails., Folio 1r with partial border in inner and lower margin (rubbed). Inner margin has scrolling vine, yellow, on parchment ground with red dots, with stylized foliage, flowers and fruit in green, red, purple and dove grey. Illuminated initial, 3-line, purple on dark green ground, is incorporated into border. In lower margin, wreathed medallion (unidentified mutilated arms: per pale, or and sable?) on pink ground, supported by two heraldic dragons, parchment colored (unfinished) against red ground. All of this decoration appears to be a later addition. Plain initials and headings in red., and Script: Written in fere-humanistic script by a single scribe, below top line.
Manuscript on paper, in a single hand, of a collection of about 73 entries, including prayers, poems on primarily romantic subjects, and culinary and medicinal recipes for such items as "orange water the Countess of Desmonds way"; black pudding; "to make hair black"; and "for Hot Sore Eyes." Other include one titled "upon my Lady Desmonds Reproaching of me Rongfully" and another addressed to "Aminta" which asks her to "think on thy Feildings dying grones." The volume also includes genealogical information on members of the Feilding family born between 1637 and 1651.

About half the recipes are for perfumes, including jasmine water; powders for scenting clothes and wigs; "acqua d'angeli"; and various balsam recipes. The volume also includes recipes for cooking delicacies and desserts such as "sorbete de pistache"; "the Duchess of Cleveland's sillybub"; "the king's sack posset"; and "Devonshire whirlpot." Other items include a medical prescription by Ludwig Kepler for "pulvis cephalicus"; a report by a Paduan doctor on the beneficial properties of coffee; and three pen and wash drawings of cassolettes.
