Shelves with Gothic arches line three walls and are filled with books; on the back wall is a large arched window and two small rose windows filled with painted glass. On the far left is the chimney-piece imitated from the tomb of John of Eltham, Earl of Cornwall in Westminster Abbey, over which the painting of The Marriage of Henry VI hangs.
