- Abstract:
- "A companion plate to British Museum Satires No. 13989 by the same artist, and with the same imprint. A Chinese interior resembling that of British Museum Satire No. 13986. George IV as a mandarin, languid and ill, sits cross-legged on a low settee. Peacock's feathers (cf. British Museum Satire No. 13299) decorate his round hat. Sidmouth as a Chinese doctor feels his pulse with concern. At the King's feet is a long rolled document headed 'List of Addresses presented to Caroline Queen of [Engla]nd'. Behind (right), a melancholy Chinese messenger hands Bloomfield (a Chinese wearing a large sword) a paper: 'Bill Thrown Out'. The latter registers dismay with raised arms. There is a slanting cloud of smoke as in British Museum Satire No. 13986. On the wall is a picture of the Queen, with sword and shield, fighting a dragon. Carved dragons decorate the King's settee (or throne), and there is a big dragon jar on the right; all the dragons look menacingly towards the King, who rests his right hand on a table on which are decanter, pill-box, &c."--British Museum online catalogue

- Abstract:
- "Bonaparte stands in a dispensary opening off a military hospital, conspiratorially giving orders to a slyly grinning doctor who shows him a bottle labelled 'Poison'. The general points to the hospital, separated from the dispensary by a curtain, where men, apparently moribund, lie on bedsteads. In the dispensary are jars, bottles, scales, pestle, and mortar; a small crocodile hangs from the roof (cf. British Museum Satires No. 11057). The most persistent of all 'atrocity' charges; certain plague-stricken French soldiers being given opium on the retreat from Acre in May 1799, see British Museum Satires No. 10063."--British Museum online catalogue

- Abstract:
- A scene in a room: Justice Henry Fielding stans in a circle drawn on the floor, the scales of 'Astrea' in his pocket, his hand supported on the sword of Justice. Also in the circle as if to protect them from witchcraft are the Lord Mayor Sir Crisp Gascoyne, his state collar round his neck, and "Dr." John Hill, the clyster-pipe of 'Galen' in his pocket; the latter points to the gypsy Mary Squires whose cause he advocated. Fielding points to Elizabeth Canning with an attendent(?) behind, whose story he eagerly defended. Two pictures hanging on the wall amplify the subject of the print: on the left, a view of the Mansion House, London, then recently erected; and on the right, a view of the Old College of Physicians, comprising a mortar, a dried and stuffed skin of a crocodile, a human skeleton, and a stuffed ostrich. Between the pictures hangs the regalia of the City of London. Centered on the ground is a bottle labelled 'Another bottle' alluding to the 'Bottle-Conjurer' (See British Museum satire 'The magician' no 3022).

- Abstract:
- "Illustration to the Oxford Magazine, 1768, vol.1 facing p.52, satirizing the dispute between the licentiates and fellows of the College of Physicians. Licentiates, mostly dressed in tartan and so identified as Scots, break through a door into a room in the College. At a table on the right, a group of fellows presided over by Death (a skeleton in official robes and wig) recoil, crying, ""These Northern Locusts want to Govern every where", "My fingers itch to be at them", "D[a]m their Scots Pills! they have ruin'd the Constituion of England" and "They pretend to cure the Kings Evil". The attackers are led by a licentiate in a zany's dress and jack-boots (a reference to Lord Bute) holding a shield and flail; he is followed by another man, who holds a large pair of shears; others flourish a pestle, a dagger and a club. In the foreground a Scot directs a clyster at one of the fellows hitting him in the mouth with a jet of liquid. A fellow has pushed a licentiate to the ground and is pouring the contents of a urinal into his throat. On the floor lies an enormous urinal, pillboxes and medicne bottle, and a soldier's haversack, labelled, "St Georges Composing Pills prepared by Dr Gillam." ( a reference to the magistrate who ordered soldiers to fire on the crowd gathered in St George's Fields in support of John Wilkes on 10 May 1768)."--British Museum online catalogue
