Abstract:
Diagram showing the arrangement of items hung inside Horace Walpole's Cabinet of Miniatures and Enamels, which was kept in the Tribune at Strawberry Hill. Most of the nearly ninety objects are small paintings, which are shown in outline only. In these cases the name of the portrait's sitter or a description of the image is written in the blank space at center, while the shape and ornamentation of the surrounding frame is depicted in some detail. Other objects include locks of hair, hearts made of hair, rings of agate, and decorative heart pendants; each of these items has a label written below. Two small areas on the right and left sides of drawing, both delineated by a vertical line and labeled "side" above, show objects that were hung on the interior sides of the cabinet
