About forty years ago the chancel of Barnwell Church (near Barnwell Castle two miles from Oundle) was repaired[?] and the head taken down by the carpenter employ'd, in whose hands it remaind. & his sons thirty years - who gave it to a carpenter of Peterborough where is remain'd till it came into the possession of Dr. Palmer of Peterborough.
