Two men of military appearance seem to be confronting each other. The tall one on the left is holding his hat in one hand and a pike over his shoulder, with the spear pointing down at his companion who is short and obese. The latter looks up beligerently holding a stick in his right hand as if ready to strike. Both wear wigs with long thin queues and have a small moustache
