Abstract:: "Full-face portrait of a man walking to right. and looking to his right. His right hand is in his coat pocket, his left thrust in his waistcoat. He wears a looped hat, his hair or wig is in a long queue bound with black ribbon. He wears a sword, laced coat, ruffled shirt and cravat, low buckled shoes. A dog of greyhound type walks in front. Abstract:: Mr. Harley, with a very large belly and a shirt with lace trim, standing full-length in profile to right wearing on his head a cuckold's horns from which hangs a sign "A room to lett unfurnish'd". From his mouth a bubble reading, "I am one of the heads of the city." In his left hand a book open to pages that read, "The city poll dedicated to the Cheese mongers, trunk makers, etc. From his right pocket a letter, "At the court of C.C., it was carried NEM-CON that he was realy & not politically ill."

Abstract:: "An election procession of thirteen patriots walking from right to left wearing the colours of Sir Watkin Lewes, elected M.P. for the City, 29 Sept. 1781, see British Museum satire no. 5849. Two flags are carried, one "Lewes & Freedom", the other, "No Ministerial Influence", in reference to Lewes' speech on his election on 29 Sept. Two of the men are playing flutes, a third blows a horn. The figures are probably portraits; two are butchers wearing aprons, their steels hanging from their waists; beside one of them walks a muzzled dog with a collar inscribed "Liberty"; this butcher is eating as he walks. One man drinks a glass of wine, holding a lump of food in his left hand. One with a swathed and gouty leg walks on crutches. All have election favours in their hats, these are inscribed respectively "Lewes for ever"; "Sr Watkin for ever"; "Freedom"; "Lewes"; "No Bribery"; "Lewes"; "No Corruption". In the hat of the butcher with the dog is "Freedom's my plan Sr Watkin is the Man". The background is formed by the lower part of the façade of two houses in a street, the front of two shops being indicated. Abstract:: "Ten ladies, arranged in two rows, with numbers referring to notes etched beneath the design, their proposed offices etched above their heads. ... '(1) First Lady of the Treasury and Chancellor of the Exchequer.' The 'Duc - ss of Gor-n' (Pitt's friend), wearing a tartan drapery, sits at a writing-table. Facing her, with outstretched right arm, is '(2) President of the Council and Duc-ss of Ric-nd.' '(3) Lady High Chancellor is the Coun-ss of Buc-s-e', very short and fat, in wig and gown and holding the purse of the Great Seal. Facing her is '(4) Chamberlain', who is 'Margr-ne of Ans-h', wearing a coronet and feathers, and holding a long wand of office. '(5) Mistress of the Horse' holding a whip is 'Lady Arc-r.' '(6) First Lady of the Admiralty' is 'Mrs Jo-n', with her arms folded, in profile to the right, as if playing the part of Priscilla Hoyden in 'The Romp', see British Museum Satires No. 6875, but wearing a naval cocked hat, emblem of her liaison with the Duke of Clarence, see British Museum Satires No. 9009. Facing her is '(7) Secretary of War & Capn of the Guards, La-y Wa-ce' (sister of No. 1); she wears a military cocked hat and coat with epaulettes, her hands placed truculently on her hips. (Her friendship with Dumouriez is perhaps hinted at.) '(8) Mistress of the Buck Hounds', is 'March-ss of Sa-ry', thin and weatherbeaten, holding two hounds on a leash, '(9) Ranger of Hyde Park', is 'La-y La-e' (wife of Sir John Lade) wearing a riding-habit and holding a riding-switch. '(10) Post Mistress General and Inspector of Mis-sent Letters' is 'La-y Je-y'. She sits at a round table on which are many letters and appliances for opening and re-sealing them, including a spirit-lamp inscribed 'Hot water'. Abstract:: "A domestic interior. A fat and ugly citizen, wearing old-fashioned dress with a small unpowdered wig, stands on the hearth-rug (right), his back to the fire; he is meditatively reading the 'Gazette', headed: 'New Taxes', and 'Bankru[pts]', his left hand plunged in his breeches pocket. Behind him on the chimney-piece is a pair of scales for weighing guineas (see BMSat 5128). His wife, bald-headed, ugly, and stout, leans back in an arm-chair, her hands raised in protest at an unpowdered wig which a grotesquely thin and ragged French hairdresser (left) proffers obsequiously. A fashionably dressed young man with cropped hair looks with imbecile surprise at his reflection in an oval mirror over the chimney-piece. His mouth is half-covered by his swathed neckcloth, he wears a short spencer (see BMSat 8192) over a sparrow-tail coat, and half-boots. A young woman with over-dressed but unpowdered (red) hair looks with dismay at her reflection in a mirror which she has snatched from the wall.
