The Burnett Family Papers consist of diaries, memoirs, invitations, and miscellaneous printed material. The diary of Lester Burnett, the father of W. C. Burnett, chronicles his journey to San Francisco by way of Panama, and his early days there. The entries run from July 13, 1850 to January 8, 1851. The diary of W. C. Burnett also describes a voyage to San Francisco and his early days there. Entries run from April 20 to May 24, 1854. In addition, there is an undated typescript memoir by Jane Cleveland Burnett, W. C. Burnettt's wife, entitled, "My Memories of Early California Days." There are also two folders of invitations to events in the San Francisco area dating from 1851 to 1891.

Manuscript binding containing 8 sermons by Zachary Grey delivered 1740-58 mostly at Lillington and Houghton-Conquest. Annotated with date and location of delivery on the first page of each sermon. Sermons prefaced by the verse(s) preached upon (from 1 Corinthians, Psalms, 1 John, Ecclesiastes, Proverbs). Enlightenment concepts of Reason and Nature incorporated in some of the sermons. and Zachary Grey was a Church of England clergyman, noted for his confrontation of dissenters. He served as rector of Houghton-Conquest, and vicar at St. Giles and St. Peter's, Cambridge.

Manuscript, in a single hand, of a promptbook of Macbeth, written in an interleaved copy of a printed edition of the play. The handwritten notes provide stage directions; scene descriptions; and sound and lighting directions; as well as directions for unnamed characters. The notes also provide explanations for dramatic choices, such as the comment concerning Banquo's murderers, "These are disbanded officers & must therefore be represented as gentlemen not common cutthroats." Occasionally the writer has drawn diagrams of actors' positions or images of scenery; and at the end of the volume, he provides several detailed directions for combat sequences, including one for the final fight between Macbeth and Macduff, involving shoulder blows, leg blows, head blows, groans, and lunges.
