Abstract:: "A realistic view of the House receding in perspective to the Throne, above which is inset an oval bust portrait of Bartolomo Bergami, wearing a cluster of five decorations, see British Museum Satires no. 13810. Eighteen figures and objects are numbered referring to the key in the lower margin. Counsel are in a line across the foreground on each side of the centre figures, who are Gurney the short-hand writer and Majocchi facing the interpreter. The Queen is inconspicuously seated behind Brougham, next a smaller lady who must be the tall Lady Anne Hamilton. Eldon is at the Table in front of the Woolsack. Abstract:: Sir Matthew Wood, naked except for the skin of the Nemean Lion, wields a club at the Hydra, which has four heads, saying "Down, down to Hell! / and say I sent thee thither". The nearest head (probably King George IV) says, "Thou shalt not / commit Adultery." The second (probably Bartolomeo Bergami) says, "Non mi ricordo!" The third head, wearing a judge's wig and collar, has no speech bubble, but printed beside beside its profile is "Bill of Pains &c." The fourth head is unidentified, and silent, as is a shadowy fifth at the bottom right. Another unidentified head rests at the center bottom of the image; Wood is either standing on or just behind it.

Abstract:: "The Queen, not caricatured, sits regally in an armchair beside an ornate marble and gilt table, on which are dishes of fruit. Next her is a dish of pears. She holds a (bitten) pear near her mouth; in her left hand is a rolled document inscribed 'Defence' from which hang two pears on a forked twig. She says meditatively: "I do love these Pears! but I hate the English Pairs* [peers]." Above her is looped a heavy fringed curtain. The 'trial', see British Museum Satires No. 13825, is assumed to be proceeding badly for the Queen. Cf. in British Museum Satires No. 13900 the contrary assumption.
