An album of pencil sketches of historic buildings and grounds in Yorkshire and Nottinghamshire, presumably executed during a tour, beginning in North Yorkshire, then South Yorkshire, and ending in Nottinghamshire. Most drawings are identified. Only one drawing is signed: "J. Haddow". The front flyleaf gives mileage between towns and villages beginning with Rotherham and continuing through Derbyshire and what is now Greater Manchester and finally to Ulverston (Lanscashire), perhaps a clue to the start and end of the trip; below this list is a sketch of a tree (orientation, reversed). The drawings, many over the two-page openings, include; three sketches of the ruins of Fountains Abbey, North Yorkshire; one sketch of parkland from Goldsborough Hall, North Yorkshire, followed by thirteen blank leaves; four sketches of Osberton Hall, Notinghamshire; three sketches of Tickhill Castle, South Yorkshire; twelve sketches of Sandbeck Park, South Yorkshire that include the ruins of Roche Abbey; and finally, a small sketch of the gate at Sandbeck Park on the back flyleaf (verso).

An album of amateur drawings, with scenes in Kent, East Sussex, Hertfordshire and Surrey. The artist, only identified with the initials 'S.G.L.', provides titles and dates for the majority of the drawings. The first group (thirteen in all) dated 1828 are views in Kent, Sussex, and Hertfordshire, including Leeds Castle, Hythe, Sandgate, Rye, Pevensey Castle, Tunbridge Wells, St. Albans, and Hatfield. The second, larger group of drawings are scenes in and round the village of Bletchingley (sometimes Bletchingly) in Surrey, depicting village life -- for example, the 'Church Yard', 'Parsonage', 'Farm Yard', landscapes with farm houses, country lanes, bridges, and people fishing, andc. -- and include both people and animals. Other views of places in the vicinity are scenes in Nutfield, London Road, Bletchingley from London Road, Rabbit Heath, et cetera All the drawings in or around Bletchingley (thirty-nine in total) are dated between August 14th and October 14th 1829. Several of the drawings are on blue paper and are highlighted with white chalk, conveying a nocturnal quality to the scene. A final group of ten undated, untitled drawings also depict rural scenes, presumably in southeastern England

An album of amateur etchings, mostly by Charlton Wollaston and The Hon. Booth Grey, and a few pen and gray wash landscape sketches and portraits. Many of the etchings are represented by multiple impressions and variant states, and on various paper stocks. Also mounted in the album is a copy of a bust of a man by Miss Clarke, from College-Green Worcester and dated 1789. Some later prints are mounted on 19th century photolithographs. The etchings represent country scenes -- thatched cottages, peasants, farms and farm animals, and peasants at work -- as well as views of churches, villages, ruins, and landscapes with row boats and skiffs on rivers. Also included are several engravings and prints from published works on various topics including a large engraving of Greek sculptural elements pasted on the inside of the back cover

An album of watercolors assembled by the gentleman farmer and amateur artist John Tomes showing views of his manor house Weston Sands House and the surrounding countryside. Tomes recorded his estate from many angles and in all seasons as well as picturesque spots in the neighbouring countryside, including several views of the River Avon which bordered his estate. Also included are a series of watercolors taken on a trip to the Isle of Wight. There is also a view of Windsor Castle (?) across the Thames and many watercolors of medieval ruins, abbeys, and castles. Tomes also copied a number of Turner prints from the ‘Liber Studiorum’ (published 1807-1819) and his ‘Picturesque views on the Southern Coast’ (published 1814-1826).
