A treatise on Sufism by ʻAbd al-Ghanī ibn Ismāʻīl al-Nābulusī (1641-1731), a famous Ṣufī, a prolific author and poet from Damascus (Syria) who traveled extensively all over the Middle East and died and buried in Damascus, being an elucidation and a commentary on "Fuṣuṣ al-ḥikam", a famous work on sufism by Ibn al-ʻArabī (Muḥyī al-Dīn ibn ʻAlī, 1165-1240), one of the most famous, prolific and controversial sufis and auhtors, with some 400 works to his credit, born in Murcia (Andalusia, Spain), died and buried in Damascus (Syria). The book was read by the copyist Ḥusayn ibn Ṭuʻmah al-Baytimānī (Baytamānī, al-Baytumānī, d. 1175 H/1761 or 1762, cf. Brockelmann, GAL, G II, 351), also a prolific author and sufi from Damascus (Syria) with some other scholars and disciples in the presence of the author himself at his home in al-Ṣāliḥiyah (a neighborhood in the city of Damascus, Syria) on Thursday, 8 Shaʻbān, 1140 (18 March, 1728). Two anonymous treatises on Islamic doctrines: 1. Arkān al-Islam (folios 1a-26b), on the five pillars of Islam: Confession of the faith, prayer, fasting, pilgrimage to Mecca, and giving alms. 2. Sullam al-tawfīq ilá maḥabbat Allāh ʻalá al-taḥqīq (folios 28b-35b) "Ladder of success to the true love of God", also called Fīmā yajibu taʻallumuhu wa-taʻlīmuhu wa-al-ʻamal bi-hi lil-khāṣṣ wa-al-ʻāmm "What must be learnt, taught and followed privately and publically". The manuscripts are written in two different hands with ample spaces between the lines to accommodate the interlinear translation into Javanese (in Arabic script), possibly to be used by students to practice translation from Arabic into Javanese. No reference could be found for either title. Name of copyists and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 18th century.

Books four and five of "al-Qānūn fī al-ṭibb" (Canon of medicine), a comprehensive work on Arabic medicine, by Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna, 980-1037) who was born near Bukhara (in present-day Uzbekistan). Avicenna was the most famous and influential scholar, scientist, and philosopher of the medieval world. He was foremost a physician, but was also an astronomer, chemist, geologist, psychologist, philosopher, logician, mathematician, physicist, and poet. His al-Qānūn fī al-ṭibb became the authoritative reference on medicine in the Middle Ages, not only in the Islamic world, but, in its Latin translations, in Europe as well. The present manuscript consists of book four (folios 1b-156b) and book five (folios 157a-211a) of a five volume set. Book five is called "al-Aqrābādhīn" (pharmacology, materia medica). Name of copyist and place and date of copying not mentioned, probably from the 19th century.
