Description:
In Greek., Mutilated watermarks consisting of column (?) flanked by fleur-de-lis., Script: Written by a single person in a small neat minuscule script., Initial on f. 1r painted in blue and outlined in red. Illuminated initial on f. 65r in gold, on blue square serving as background; partial border at bottom of page: pink flowers in gold rectangle outlined in black. Running titles throughout., and Binding: Probably ca. 1530. Bruges (?). Sewn on four single, tawed thongs laced twice in and out of pasteboards. The tawed cores of the beaded endbands are also laced twice. Half bands divide the end sections of the spine. The book-block is remarkably clean and the leaves flat. Covered in brown calf with panel stamps of Saint John the Baptist and Saint Michael in arches with a line of dancing figures and a piper in between. Heavily repaired.

Part III: Harlfinger Lettres 66., Script: Each part written by a different scribe, all in Greek minuscule. Part I by Valeriano da Forli, who also wrote marginal notes in red and labelled the diagrams., Part I: Headpiece, 3- and 2-line initials with stylized floral motifs and headings in red. Diagrams in margins of geometrical figures drawn with compass. Part II: Headings in red. Diagrams drawn with compass and ruler, labelled in red, and fitted into written space. Part III: 2- to 1-line initials with stylized floral motifs and headings in pale red., Waterstains throughout. On f. 57r, spills, dirt and pen trials; several words effaced or obscured. Discoloration on ff. 1r and 78v suggests that this part was once separate., and Binding: Nineteenth century. Vellum case with a gold-tooled title.

In Greek., Watermarks: Harlfinger Chapeau 74., Script: Written by a single scribe in tall, upright minuscule., Decorative initials, 6- to 5-line, in red with simple floral designs; rubrics throughout., and Binding: 16th-17th centuries. Three original chain-stitched supports, the thread laced into square-edged, flush, wooden boards grooved on the edges. The beaded, colored endbands are sewn on cords which are attached in holes in the edges of the boards. The edges are painted with a red and black interlace design, the spine smooth and round. Covered in brown goatskin, blind-tooled with concentric borders, different on each board, the central panels filled with flowers and small diamonds. One pin hole in the edge of the upper board, three holes for a strap in the lower. Rebacked. According to A. R. A. Hobson, the binding originated in Crete.
