- In Latin., Script: Copied by one hand writing in Gothica Cursiva Formata (Bastarda)., and Decoration: Purplish red rubrics. Yellow highlighting of the majuscules. 1-line versals and 2- or 3-line initials, all in liquid gold on purplish red or blue square background decorated with foliage or flowers in liquid gold. Initials in red, blue, and gold. On f. 1v, there is a rectangular picture, framed in black and gold and treated as an initial 11 lines high, of God the Father with tiara, sitting, one hand on the globe, the other hand blessing rows of Seraphim and Cherubim before him. Elsewhere yellow-colored fleur-de-lys, animals, archers and a giant insects.

- In Latin with some Dutch headings., Script: Copied by one Northern scribe writing Southern Textualis Formata (Rotunda) with some Humanistic features (Capital A, straight d alternating with Gothic d)., Headings in red. Lavish decoration in Ghent-Bruges style. Rectangular line-fillers in red, blue, green and gold. Trompe-l'oeil initials (1 line, 2 lines, 3 lines (rarely), 5 lines) consist of twisted branches in mat gold projecting shadow on a square background in red, blue or green. Full-page miniatures are painted on the verso of inserted singletons and are framed by four-margin borders which have their counterpart on the facing text page. Text miniatures (height: 7-8 lines) are painted in regular quires and are accompanied by four-margins, mostly floral borders., and Binding: Partly original binding in blind-tooled brown calf by the Bruges binder Ludovicus Bloc (1484-1529). The original binding is inset in brown morocco by F. Bedford (?) On each cover a panel with eight animals in tendrils, surrounded by the inscription in Roman Capitals "Ob laudem Christi librum hunc recte ligavi Ludovicus Bloc", is stamped four times; between the upper and the lower panel imprints is a five-compartment frieze containing animals. On the modern blind-tooled spine gold-tooled modern inscriptions "HORAE / B.V.M. / TORNACENSIS" and "MS./ BRUGES / C. 1520". Gilt and gauffered edges. White parchment endleaves.

Rubrics in orange-tinted red, paragraph marks in blue. Added memoriae for Don Diego de Mardones have elaborate penwork cadeaux at the beginning., Offset impression of red lines (from pastedowns or flyleaves now lost?) appear on ff. 1r (running vertically) and 21v (horizontally); no loss of text., and Binding: Sixteenth century. Each miniature with a lavish acanthus border incorporating arms on ff. 77r and 93r. Text pages with a 3/4 bar border, pink, blue and gold, with interlace knots at corners and terminals and delicate rinceaux, in two sizes on different folios. 3-line initials at text opening, two historiated: f. 77r and f. 93r; f. 51r with a blue and gold diapered ground; the remainder, blue with white highlights or in pink and blue acanthus filled with ivy, with blue and orange leaves, on gold, against pink, blue and/or gold grounds with white filigree; framed in gold, often with small ivy or acanthus serifs. 4- to 2-line initials in text and KL monograms, pink or blue with white highlights, filled with ivy, as above. 1-line initials blue, pink and gold with white filigree. - In Latin and French., Script: Written in batarde by several persons., Forty-six miniatures of very poor quality, the majority 10- to 8-lines, rectangular and full width of folio, framed in brown ink; four others (ff. 42v, 53r, 73v, and 104v) 5- to 4-lines, square, in gold frames edged in blue. 4- to 3-lines initials, ff. 1r-7v only, silver or gold on magenta or blue irregular grounds, with gold or silver filigree. 2- and 1-lines initials in red. Line-fillers in red and brown floral patterns. Rubrics throughout., and Binding: 16th-17th centuries. Resewn on four very small vegetable fiber cords. The spine of the cover shows that the earlier supports were nearly flat and double and that there were two half-bands near head and tail. Red edges. A rectangle of leather near the center is painted red and "Margveritte de Savoye" is tooled near the head of the lower board. The cover has been made into a case or hollow-backed binding.

- In German and Latin., Watermarks: similar to Briquet Armoiries 1656., Script: Text written in varying bookhands, most with batarde influence; more formal scripts for some rubrics and portions of text on parchment., Two historiated initials, 12- and 10-line, on parchment bifolios, the letters gold and blue with brown and red penwork, the figures crudely drawn in pen and colored brown, blue and green, against bright red grounds with white highlights; brown and red calligraphic flourishes with red, green, blue and yellow dots extending along upper and side edges of written space. 12-, 10-, and 9-line initials (ff. 13r, 96r, 115r, 179r, 222r, 258r, 322v) gold (or red for ff. 258r, 322v) and blue, filled with brown floral penwork designs with calligraphic flourishes and dots, as above. Floral outer margin borders normally on the pages with 2-line initials. Four-margins borders and miniatures above 3 lines of text opening with a 3-line foliate initial, on ff. 13r (Annuntiation), 25r (Visitation), 38r (Crucifixion), 39v (Pentecost), 41r (Nativity), 46r (Annuntiation to the Shepherds), 50r (Adoration of the Magi), 58v (Flight into Egypt), 65r (Coronation of the Virgin), 76r (Saint John on Patmos), 99r (Funeral mass). The miniatures are rounded at the top. The borders contain acanths and a multitude of gold vine and other leaves, flowers, animals, hybrids and monsters. The artist is said to be Péronet Lamy, an illuminator in the service of the Dukes of Savoy in the second quarter of the fifteenth century., and Binding: contemporary binding: brown calf over rounded wooden boards. Both covers entirely blind-tooled with rows of juxtaposed stamps: monkeys and fleurs-de-lys in the central panel; rosettes and phoenix(?) in the frame. Clasps missing.

- In Latin., Script: Written by a single copyist in two sizes of liturgical gothic script., One miniature, f. v verso: Saul on the Road to Damascus, an addition (between 1500 and 1510) of fair quality, in an arched frame, brown and gold; a scatter border of flowers and insects on a beige ground, brown edging. Large initials, one (f. 4r) 8-line (45 x 45 mm.) on burnished gold with tooling, the others either on burnished gold with tooling (ff. 1r, 38r, 72v, 127v) or on pink and blue grounds (ff. 154r, 161r, 193v), set in full scatter borders of acanthus twigs (either gold with pink and brown or red, blue, and/or pink), flowers and, in some cases, birds, over compartmentalized (blue/gold, pink/beige, blue/dark blue, beige/brown), beige and parchment (with and without a background of black pen flecks) grounds; some borders without bounding lines. On f. 1r, an unidentified coat of arms in each corner of the border. Upper left and lower right, sable, in chief 2 wreaths vert with dots gules and or, in base a rose per pale gules and argent, barbed vert, seeded or. Upper right, or, a bear (?) rampant argent, langued gules. Lower left, ermine, a fess gules with 4 plates, cottised sable. Small initials, 3-line, gold, either filled with pink with gold filigree on a blue ground decorated with acanthus and black flecks, or filled with blue on a pink ground decorated with black filigree; some with additional flowers or pink and blue acanthus; all associated with short border strips, as above. Numerous 3- and 4-line initials, blue, filled with red curling acanthus drawn in pen, surrounded by red or crimson penwork. 2- and 1-line initials in red or blue. Rubrics throughout., Pieces of the illuminated borders have been cut from ff. 4, 38, 127, 154, and 193. Ink has run or been rubbed in several places, including ff. v verso and 1r., and Binding: Sixteenth century. Sewn on three double vegetable fiber cords laced into wooden boards. The book is so tightly bound that it is impossible to determine whether or not the sewing is original. No endband grooves. Edges gilt. Covered in dark brown calf with a panel stamp of the Virgin and Child on a crescent, within a flambent aureole in the center of each board, hearts pierced with an arrow and a dagger (?) in a diamond, stars in circles above and below the central stamp, all within a vine scroll border. Traces of one fastening, two later fastenings added. Rebacked, very possibly by the binder who rebacked MS 7 as there is a similar, unusual, endcap treatment.
