Preserved in a modern cardboard folder covered with paper decorated with vertical red and purple stripes. On the brown leather spine the gold-tooled inscription: "KING HENRY VIII'S OWN MS. BOUCH OF COURT".

In Latin, Hebrew, and Greek., Script: Written epigraphically and always with great calligraphic skill in a variety of styles by a single practiced hand, possibly the same which executed the drawings., Each page of the manuscript has a pen-drawn border on the recto side, containing an emblematical drawing, or complex calendrical or horological drawing, executed in pen and heightened with gold and silver., and Binding: Original calf binding, now rather deteriorated, the sides very elaborately gold-tooled in a multiple rectangle pattern, the large innermost rectangle with a series of circles containing floral ornaments, similar half-circles at the edges, the back in compartments with floral decoration; marbled endpapers, plain edges.

In English., Watermarks: unidentified pot., Script: Written in a well formed chancery hand by a single scribe., and Binding: Sixteenth century. Endleaves reinforced with vellum, two leaves originally pasted to each board. Sewn on five single, tawed skin thongs laced into paste boards rounded on the outside of the spine edge. Beaded endbands sewn on leather or cane cores but not laced to boards. The spine is square, with traces of adhesive. Covered in dark brown calf, blind-tooled with a triple line border and a small central ornament. Two ribbon fastenings, now wanting. Leather broken at joint, sewing reinforced.

In Latin, with passages in English and French., Script: Arts. 4-14 written in a neat chancery script with Anglicana influence; arts. 1 and 15 in similar, but less elegant hands; arts. 2-3 are in gothic textura., Plain initial, in red, with crude ink penwork flourishes on f. 1v; KL monograms and portions of calendar also on red., Some stains on ff. 2r-7v render text illegible., and Binding: 19th-20th centuries. Rebinding in quarter pigskin, tanned, not tawed, with a strap and pin fastening. The oak boards, cambered on all four outer edges and with rectangular pegs, are probably contemporary with the manuscript. Front pastedown composed of a small fragment of prayers in Latin (15th century).

The manuscript contains the Chronicle of the Cistercian house of Louth Park, Lincolnshire, beginning with a Brut Chronicle (f. 1r-5r) and continuing with an annalistic account of Louth Park to the accession of Henry V in 1413 (f. 5v-12v). It includes (f. 10r-11r) a list of Cistercian houses with dependencies and dates of foundation. Written on paper in Anglicana formata script, it was produced at Louth Park Abbey (Lincolnshire) in or after 1413

Briquet nos. 6645-6652)., Binding: Nineteenth-century brown buckram, in or after 1866. The manuscript was interleaved when it was rebound; notes on the contents were added opposite the text on several leaves.
