Wa-hiya sunnah muwattarah (?) ʻalá man yalzamuhu ḥuḍūr al-Jumʻah, wa-al-aṣl fīhi al-ijmāʻ wa-al-fiʻl al-mutawātir min Rasūl Allāh, ṣallá Allāh ʻalayhi wa-sallam, wa-qawluhu taʻālá Fa-ṣalli li-Rabbika wa-inḥar, qīla arāda bi-hi ṣalāt ʻīd al-naḥr, wa-dhahaba al-Iṣṭakhrī ilá annahā min furūḍ al-kifāyāt, wa-ṭarada dhālika fī jamīʻ al-shaʻāʼir ...", The title al-Maṭlab lil-Qamūlī is given in the waqf-deed on leaf 1 recto (dated A.H. 797 [A.D. 1395]); Aḥmad al-Qamūlī presumably having completed Ibn al-Rifʻah's unfinished work., For the author see Brockelmann, C. "al-Shudhūr al-dhahabīyah wa-al-qiṭaʻ al-Aḥmadīyah fī al-lughah al-Turkīyah", a textbook of miscellaneous vocabularies and glossaries in Arabic with their corresponding equivalents in Ottoman Turkish, written for the benefit of a certain "Aḥmad", the son of a high ranking, unnamed dignitary, by Ibn Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ (Molla Sâlih, Mullā Ṣāliḥ, Mawlānā ibn Muḥammad Ṣāliḥ), referred to as Shaykh al-Arwām, who was teaching at the Eşrefiyye medrese (al-Madrasah al-Ashrafīyah) in Cairo, and was alive in the year 1029 of the Hijrah (1619/1620).
