Half green goatskin with green cloth sides, gold- and blind-tooled. Leaves of a didactic theological text (Germany, ca. 1250) bound at beginning and end; probably a bifolium. Parchment; 291 x 196 (220 x 155) mm. Written above top line in a small gothic bookhand. Initials in red or green with penwork designs of the other color. Stained, but with little loss of text.

- In Italian and Latin., Watermarks: similar to Briquet Fruit 7372-76, Briquet Cheval 3564, and Briquet Fruit 7341., Script: Written by a single scribe in a neat notarial hand, through f. 67v. Notes added by various hands of 14th-15th centuries., Drawings of ships, towers and merchants in ink, with added yellow, brown, green, red and blue; many diagrams. Crude 2- and 1-line initials in red, with guide-letters for rubricator showing beneath; headings in red., Repair of f. 1 with later paper; some loss of text. Repairs at outer edges on this and other folios do not affect text., and Binding: 18th-19th centuries. Rigid vellum case with paste paper back endleaf and pastedowns. Central fold of each bifolium has been reinforced with a strip of parchment.

- Peter Meghen (d. 1537), of 's-Hertogenbosch in Brabant; scribe who copied works for several English clients, including Christopher Urswick and John Colet, and served as a courier for Erasmus and Sir Thomas More. Meghen's other patrons included Cardinal Wolsey, and he became Writer of the King's Books in the 1520s and served until his death in 1537. His nickname, "Cyclops," referred to his having only one eye., In Latin., In a humanistic script., Original foliation in red, from i to clii, skips from lxxix to c., Rubrics and foliation in red.
