A young and handsome English couple walk arm-in-arm (right to left), the man well-dressed in top-hat, tail-coat, breeches, and top-boots, the lady simply and elegantly dressed in a high-waisted gown and plain bonnet. Four Parisiennes, ugly, bedizened, over-dressed, and round-shouldered, point and jeer. One holds by the hand a little girl, also pointing.
