Below are five heads labelled 'Country Clergy', not in strictly clerical garb. One man has a hat on and a turban under it. Another wears a turban, still another has long natural hair.

Abstract:
In an inn, a parson snores while his table companion, an old soldier with a wooden leg, recounts animatedly the battle of Dettingen, the map of which hangs on the wall behind them. "An ugly old man wearing night-cap, dressing-gown, and slippers stands at an open window gazing up through a spy-glass at a comet shaped like a large shuttle-cock. Keys hang from his waist. Behind him (left) sits a pretty young woman, turning her head to look at the comet, but giving her right hand to a young man who kneels beside her, while she presses her foot on his. She wears a long fur boa over her evening dress."--British Museum online catalogue, description of an earlier state.

"Fox rises from a close-stool; Sheridan (left) is about to apply a syringe, inscribed 'R------ts [Regent's] Clyster', to his rectum. Burke (right), wearing a Jesuit's biretta (cf. British Museum Satires No. 6026), gropes in the close-stool, holding in his left hand its lid, inscribed 'Not searching from Precedents but Consequences' (a characteristic dictum); he says, "To Ordure - Ordure" (Burke was often called to order for his speeches on the Regency, cf. British Museum Satires No. 7499, &c). Fox says, "Exegi Monumentum cere perennias, or the finishing Stroke" (perhaps an allusion to the revolution Pillar, see British Museum Satires No. 7396). In his hand is a paper inscribed 'Magna Charta Non Posteris sed Posterioribus'; his posterior is inscribed 'Patriotic Bum' and 'Vox Populi'. He stands on a paper inscribed 'Resolutions of P------l------t.' Sheridan is 'Principal Promoter of loose Principles'; under his right foot is an open book: 'Congreve Plays School for Scandal', probably implying plagiarism by Sheridan (cf. Moore, 'Life of Sheridan', p. 180, where resemblances between 'The School for Scandal' and 'The Double Dealer' are noted). The background is a library wall: a book-case containing folio volumes in some disorder is flanked by scowling busts of 'Wat Tyler' and 'Jack Kade'. The books are inscribed: 'The Laws of Pharaoh' (Faro, cf. British Museum Satires No. 5972), 'Political Prints', 'Life of Oliver Cromwell' (cf. British Museum Satires No. 6380, &c), 'Cataline' (cf. British Museum Satires No. 6784), 'Memoirs of Sam House'."--British Museum online catalogue.

"Lord Kirkcudbright stands at a dressing-table on an immense baron's coronet which serves as a foot-stool, regarding himself in a draped mirror. He wears a court suit and sword with an immense bag to his wig, which sticks out from his humped back. His left arm is akimbo, fingers outspread, right arm bent and holding a small tricorne in a swaggering pose that exaggerates his deformity, which is further accentuated by a shirt frill. His profile is almost concave; the mirror reflects a satisfied full face. On the table are toilet appliances and a large bottle labelled 'Velno', a quack venereal remedy, see BMSat 7592. He says: '"Methinks I'm now, a marv'lous proper Man, - "I'll have my Chambers lin'd with Looking Glass, "And entertain a score or two of Tailors, - "To study Fashions to adorn my body, - '."--British Museum online catalogue.

Abstract:
"The Duchess of Devonshire (right), in morning cap and gown, makes tea for Fox and Sam House who sit side by side on a sofa (left). The duchess leans back in her chair, one hand on the tap of the urn, while she hands a cup to a footman who stands with a tray. Sam (left) has been served first; he sits stirring his tea and gazing adoringly at Fox (right), who playfully pats his bald head. A spaniel stands in front of them, begging. On the wall behind are two freely sketched whole length portraits: behind the duchess is Reynolds's portrait of her husband standing by his horse (as in British Museum Satires No. 6546), the other is over the heads of House and Fox."--British Museum online catalogue.

A hideous, ragged woman looks amorously at her male companion, a burly dustman, as they sift through cinders; two others kneel at their feet, one also using a sieve to sift through the cinders while her companion drinks gin. In the foreground are the bones of a horse; flying overhead a flock of carrion crows.

"An aged man with a Jewish profile unlocks a large padlock on an iron-studded door under a vaulted portico. Beside him stands a man dressed like a sailor with a basket of poultry and fish on his head, and a straw-covered flask in his hand. An area railing is also padlocked, but behind the railing is a handsome young officer on a ladder, helping a pretty girl out of the window. The old man wears old-fashioned dress with a tie-wig, and two coats, one worn like a cape with the sleeves empty. His crutched stick leans against the door. A corbel above the door is a grotesque figure with a Jewish profile, supporting a burden."--British Museum online catalogue.

"Fifteen officers sit round a roughly made table on which are decanters and fruit. A stout officer (? Captain Dottin [Identification on print. Abel Rous Dottin was captain in the and Life Guards. 'Army List', 1797.]) right, in an arm-chair, gives the toast 'The King', all raise their glasses with varying expressions. The Duke of York, spilling his wine, looks tipsily towards Dottin. Only one man stands, straddling across the seat of his chair, a decanter of 'Tokay' in his left hand. Captain Birch, [James Birch was lieutenant in the First Life Guards, Thomas Birch a captain in the Sixteenth Light Dragoons. Ibid., 1797.] caricatured as in BMSat 9068, sits on the Duke's left. The officer on the extreme left, looking down slyly, resembles General Davies, see BMSat 9442. Next him, a very fat officer is smoking a pipe, a paper of tobacco on the table in front of him, a bottle of 'Gin' under his chair. The third profile from the left resembles that of Prince William of Gloucester. Wright and Evans add Col. Jekyl: the profile on the extreme right has a family likeness to that of Joseph Jekyll, none resembles the Col. Jekyll of BMSat 7330. All wear cocked hats. The decanters or bottles on the table are labelled 'Champa[gne]', 'Claret', 'Burgundy'. Under the table are more bottles, and empty bottles lie on the ground, with broken glasses, a pineapple, and an orange. The floor is boarded and the table roughly made, but the chairs are ornate and decorated with ormolu."--British Museum online catalogue.
